The Easy Way to Wear 1930’s

Have you shied away from a 1930’s look as you think it may be too complicated??

It is not true! I managed to put this look together very quickly last sunday,  for an impromptu shopping trip, and then impromptu photoshoot!  I am fortunate my hair played along and required little styling, and under the killer round 30’s style shades… only mascara! So very simple on the hair and make up!

The dress is circa 1936 vintage reproduction dress from own my online collection.  It has the cutest little ruffle sleeves that I just adore! And the bows on the front are just the cuteness cherry on top! Did I mention it also has a metal side zip just like a vintage one would!

Even though here in Qld Australia, just 3 weeks away from winter, it is still not cold. So I am wishing the cooler weather upon us by wearing my beautiful little knitted cape that I was lucky enough to find in an op shop ( or you might call it a thrift store). I tell you I cannot wait for the cooler weather!

I styled this quick look with my no fuss, go-to furry beret. For me this is the easiest and of all my hats and complements any 1930’s look I might be going with. It will stay on by itself, cover all the lazy weekend hair you might be sporting and won’t blow off in the wind! So it is my go to for all weather occasions!

Ahhh I love Mildred with the cape, a perfect match! Congratulations on your blog – everything looks beautiful and I look forward to all of your future posts. And yay for little Esme making a cameo! This will come as no surprise of course but my favorite 30s looks are beach pajamas – and all things 30s that are nautical inspired, think Carole Lombards nautical outifts.

    • Thankyou so much! Yes that is no surprise!!! I never did get the time to make beach pajamas yet for when I went to the Art Deco weekend in NZ, I will get to them and You will be among the first to know!!

Your knitted cape is so delightful, but I do adore a fabulous plaid print! A really great ensemble, and I can’t wait to see what else you come up with; naturally, I’m adding your blog to my Feedly asap. 😉 ❤
