Have you ever wanted to start refashioning those old clothes and turning them into something new, but just don’t know where to start?
This Masterclass is designed to give you the head start you need, to get started and learn the basic principles of refashioning!
Over the 2 days you will learn techniques I use on all my refashions, for professional finishes. Techniques you can apply to your own future refashions!
With the aid of specially designed templates for sketching refashions, I will take you through my process from inspiration to design development!
It's my goal for you to not to just be able to copy a refashion, but to gain an understanding of refashioning and the thought process behind what you're doing, so you are well equipped to continue on your own refashioning journey after the class!
Together we will design and build your own refashion from a mens shirt, and sew it into reality!
You will receive personal guidance on how to get that design out of your head, fit the shirt to your body and turn it into your own refashion, in YOUR individual style!
Day 1 – Techniques Day
We will first use a sampler mens shirt to learn how to cut new necklines, shorten hems and sleeves evenly, and finish the edges with techniques like bias facing, lace or piping.... which ever is your favorite! Once the fear of 'the first cut' has vanished we will start designing and begin the deconstruction today!
Day 2 – Build your own refashion day!
Today we continue on with the fitting and down sizing of your shirt, first together as a whole class, but quickly you will separate into your own sewing schedule as you create your own unique refashion, with my help along the way!

Approximately 9am to 3.30pm, Saturday and Sunday
This class is designed as a choose your own adventure style, so it can be tailored to your skill level!
As long as you know how to use your machine and generally sew, this masterclass is suitable for a first refashion, or for a more advanced sewer wanting to dive deeper into the refashioning world!
Once we complete the sampling on finishing techniques as a class, I will have a good idea on where your skill level is at, and if it is your first time I will be able to help guide your design into something achievable for you.
Or, for the more seasoned sewer, something to challenge you!
