Mixing Vintage Fashion Eras – A 1950’s Dress Mix Up

Have you ever wondered “Should I mix different eras of vintage clothing together”?? The answer is yes! To me personal style is about mixing all the things that you love together in a way that express how you feel that day. You should seek inspiration from everywhere you can get it and when selecting your outfit in the morning I don’t think you should not follow any ‘rules’.

It was obvious that I felt like mixing things up today! This a most gorgeous 1950’s original dress I was able to acquire from a very lovely lady who was cleaning out her mother belongings. There as a selection of goodies I took from the back of her car boot ( yes literally CAR BOOT!) This dress was among the loot I scored that day, a beautiful seersucker mid 50’s dress perfect for summer in almost mint condition.

I was trying to be discreet about not wanting to bother with my hair that day, so a turban it was! A little 40’s looking, especially along with my round 30’s shaped sunglasses!

I was so lucky this dress fit perfectly!

And of course to mix it right up, some long 1920’s style beads!

Dress : 1950’s vintage
Turban : thrifted scarf tied as a turban
Sunglasses : ???
Beads : Thrifted
Shoes : Jo Ann Mercer

So tell me ladies, do you also like to mix up your decades like i do?? Please leave a comment below, I’ll be reading every one!
