Ok, so here is the latest instalment of What I Wore. This is where I share all my vintage styled outfits that I wear every day, not just on a special occasion!

It is now quite hot and, as summer looms ( yes it is hot and it’s not even technically summer yet! Scary I know!) it can be difficult to have ‘full’ outfits, when it is so hot you can barely wear clothes at all!

All the layers come off, and I find it much harder to create beautiful outfits for summer, as there are just so many fewer things that you can put on!

So to troubleshot this problem I have been bringing out all the costume jewellery!

The chunky plastic bangles, long strands of pearls and turbans have all been featuring in  my summer outfits as I feel it is a nice way to bring a 30’s/40’s Carmen Miranda look to my summer wardrobe!

One new addition, was…. pants!! If I tell you that I haven’t worn pants for about 6 years would you believe me? Well, it’s true!

I hate jeans and prefer dresses.

But, I have been wanting to make a pair 20’s style high waisted palazzo pants for some time, and now was the time!

I found a pattern, made some changes and used a beautiful super lightweight rayon fabric, and it turns out, I love them!

They are sooo comfortable and surprisingly cool in this intolerable heat I am experiencing. They are going to be a staple for this summer I think, and I have already had a number of requests for custom orders on  them!

Do you wear pants in your vintage style? Or did you shun them like me? Let me know in the comments!
